From a Press Release, Nashville Super Speedway announced that a Goodyear tire test is scheduled for Tuesday, March 23 for select NASCAR teams at Nashville Superspeedway in preparation for the inaugural “Ally 400” NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, June 20.
Also attending the test will be three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion (1981, 1982, 1985) Darrell Waltrip and NBC Sports commentators Dale Jarrett, the 1999 NASCAR Cup Series champion, and Steve Letarte, former crew chief for NASCAR legends Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Waltrip, Jarrett and Letarte will participate in an informal press conference in the track’s media center.
Three NASCAR Cup Series drivers tentatively scheduled to participate in the March 23 test include 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kurt Busch (No. 1 Chevrolet, Chip Ganassi Racing), Christopher Bell (No. 20 Toyota, Joe Gibbs Racing) and Chase Briscoe (No. 14 Ford, Stewart-Haas Racing). This will be the first tire test on the 1.33-mile concrete track since its rebirth was announced last summer. The tire test is NOT open to the public.
